Sleaford and surrounding area canine pool

For some years now we have been looking for a place to set up Poppy’s pool.

In August 2024 an opportunity presented itself in Ruskington and Poppy’s pool became the reality that was a dream for so long.

Poppy’s pool is a family owned and run business. Owned by a family of not just dog lovers but animal lovers. The joy our fury friends can give us is second to none.

We have always had dogs, at the minute we have three German short haired pointers. Sox, the mum of the pack. She mothers the other dogs and we call her lady Sox. If you’re lucky enough to meet her you’ll see why she has that nickname. She’s a great dog. Well enough trained to do as we want (most of the time anyway). We have had Sox from pup and have raised her to be the good girl she is today. We are all really proud of her.

In March 2024 we were lucky to see Sox have a litter of pups. The unwritten rules of having a litter is that you have to keep one.  (That’s what I told Hannah anyway)

We kept Pongo. Right now he is 10 months and is doing well. We still have a way to go with him but I think he will be a good dog.

And finally……we have Poppy. The star of the show, the head line act and probably the reason I have no hair left. You will all meet Poppy. Don’t worry. She won’t encroach on your pool time.  Poppy is the most challenging dog I have ever encountered. She is loved by all dogs. Unfortunately not so loved by most humans. She is 100mph or asleep and no in between. But when the dust settles she is the most loving of all dogs and will win everyone round in the end.
